Rob Shield, Gary Woods, and Scott Eckert all make money from private schools in East County.
None of these men taught in the Grossmont Union High School District (GUHSD). None of them sent their children to GUHSD schools.
Rob Shield fails to disclose private school income
Foothills Christian High School is a private high school just two miles from Grossmont High School. GUHSD Trustee Rob Shield is listed as the only “Government & Economics” teacher on the Foothills contact page.
Shield’s lack of transparency is concerning. Shield does not mention this teaching position on his official biography on the GUHSD website. Nor did Shield list this private school income on his “Economic Interests” form in the 2022 election.
Scott Eckert’s private school side job
Scott Eckert profits from his close ties to a private school called Heritage Christian Academy. Eckert offers his services as a private math teacher through Heritage. [See Eckert’s website]
Gary Woods leads a private school in East County
Gary Woods is executive director of EBI International Leadership Institutes, a private school that is part of Shadow Mountain Ministries.
Through Shadow Mountain, Woods also has professional ties to a private school network called Christian Unified Schools.
